[edit]Early Life
Kevin is from the Dublin community of Graves County. He graduated from Graves County High School in 1991.
[edit]Singing career
Kevin Skinner began playing the guitar when he was 12 years old. He has been playing, writing, and singing his songs ever since he learned the art of music from his musician father, Joe, who is a fan of Hank Williams. Kevin is most known for his notable audition on the fourth season of America’s Got Talent, singing “If Tomorrow Never Comes” by Garth Brooks. Kevin stated he was inspired by Hank Williams, Jr., but he enjoys a variety of music. He, along with his siblings Jennifer and Rodney, played in a band called Skinner and Friends. Their gigs were at places such as Wrangler’s Campground in the Land Between the Lakes and Hill’s Bar-B-Que near the Kevil Korner, and other venues, including open mic nights in Nashville, Tennessee.
